Ben Herskowitz

Ben Herskowitz is a Senior Managing Director in the ESG & Sustainability Advisory and broader Financial Communications practice. Mr. Herskowitz has extensive experience providing counsel to pre-IPO and public company management teams seeking to develop or enhance their existing ESG and sustainability strategy and associated execution efforts. His experience includes crafting complex multi-stakeholder sustainability strategies with various objectives in mind, including strengthening and diversifying the shareholder base, targeted ratings improvement, and helping companies respond to the TCFD's recommendations, prepare for related regulatory developments, and implement net zero and broader climate strategies.

As a senior member of FTI Consulting's ESG & Sustainability Advisory practice, Mr. Herskowitz leads clients through complex sustainability initiatives such as performing materiality assessments, determining the sustainability reporting frameworks most applicable and beneficial to the company and stakeholders' ability to evaluate performance, setting relevant targets, improving data tracking capabilities to enhance go-forward reporting, and communicating progress via periodic updates and sustainability reports. Mr. Herskowitz has helped several clients receive third-party recognition and accolades, including a track record of successful ESG ratings improvement, expansion of shareholder bases, the short-listing of an inaugural sustainability report by Corporate Register for 'Best 1st Time ESG Report', and recognition for meeting the standards of EcoVadis and OGMP.

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Herskowitz was in Corporate Development for a PE-backed startup innovating at the intersection of consumer lending and renewable energy. There, Mr. Herskowitz helped develop corporate messaging, aided in a $200M+ series-A fundraising, and helped design and implement a post-merger company-wide scalability plan. Mr. Herskowitz began his career in investment banking with BB&T's Windsor Group, an Aerospace, Defense, and Government Contracting-focused sell-side M&A group in Washington, D.C. where he helped execute on several sale processes and fairness opinions.

Mr. Herskowitz graduated Cum Laude from Wake Forest University with a B.S. in finance. He is a Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) Credential holder.
