Dr. Blanca Perea

Dr. Blanca Perea is a Senior Managing Director at FTI Consulting and she is the Head of Energy, Power & Products practice in Latin America within the Corporate Finance & Restructuring segment. Dr. Perea has more than 18 years of experience in the energy space, with deep expertise in electricity and gas, specializing in regulation, economic analysis and energy efficiency.

Dr. Perea’s project experience includes advising clients on economic and financial analysis, corporate strategy formulation, business model transformation, strategic market entry and exit, balance sheet restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, due diligence reviews and energy policy and regulation. In proceedings involving commercial, regulatory and competence issues within the energy sector, Dr. Perea serves as an expert witness in both national tribunals and international arbitration courts.

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Dr. Perea was a Partner at Bluecap, a Director at PwC and the Managing Director of COGEN Spain.

Dr. Perea is regularly sought out to participate in energy conferences, including the World Economic Forum in Davos, Unidad Editorial, Energía y Sociedad and the International Association for the Economy of Energy. She also has published papers for key institutions, such as Club Español de la Energía. The results of her work have been published in more than 40 papers, media articles and books, and she has been invited to speak at Stanford University, Brookhaven National Laboratory, Universiti Purta Malaysia and Deusto University, among others.

Dr. Perea has an M.B.A. from Barcelona’s ESADE Business School and Georgetown University and a Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering and Physics from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, carried out at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (“CERN”) in Switzerland.
