About Cary
Cary Elliott has over 25 years of experience analyzing labor markets from a federal policy perspective as well as in single- and multi-plaintiff employment disputes. Dr. Elliott specializes in providing statistical analysis in labor and employment legal matters including pay equity, employment discrimination and wage and hour matters.
Dr. Elliott has analyzed potential liability and calculated damages in a wide variety of employment matters, including wrongful termination, compensation, hiring, promotions, and FLSA wage and hour claims. At FTI Consulting, Dr. Elliott applies his broad knowledge of labor economics and public policy to the analysis of employment disputes and antitrust issues in labor markets.
Dr. Elliott has been engaged as an expert on a wide range of employment matters and has written and supported expert testimony. Those matters include large employment class actions, discrimination cases brought by the EEOC and the OFCCP, FLSA and related state law wage and hour cases, and alleged employee misclassification. In addition, he has conducted dozens of pay-equity analyses on behalf of employers seeking to ensure fair employment outcomes and mitigate risk from potential employment-related litigation.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Dr. Elliott was a Director at Resolution Economics, a Manager at Bates White Economic Consulting, and a Senior Consultant at NERA Economic Consulting. In addition to his experience in economic consulting, he spent 12 years as a Senior Economist at the U.S. Congressional Budget Office, the U.S. Treasury, and the Joint Economic Committee of Congress, where he authored economic studies and advised lawmakers and their staff on labor market economics and employee wages and benefits.
