About Denis
Denis Desbiez is a Managing Director at FTI Consulting and is based in London. He is in the Capital Markets Practice in the Economic and Financial Consulting segment.
Denis is a versatile capital markets professional with over 20 years’ experience in trading, valuation, structuring and risk management of derivatives products across European, Asian and American markets. Denis has intimate and profound knowledge on a wide range of securities, derivatives and structured products across various asset classes including equity, debt, foreign exchanges and money markets. Denis has extensive experience of negotiating valuation discrepancy and advising lawyers for dispute resolution.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Denis spent two years as an independent consultant where he advised clients on financial products, risk management and regulations.
Denis joined Lehman Brothers as a Managing Director and Head of European Trading, Structured Fund in 2008. Following the company going into administration later that year, Denis helped to lead the rebuilding of the pricing infrastructure. He managed the team in charge of valuing and analysing all securities and derivatives transactions in the books until 2016.
Prior to Lehman Brothers, Denis was Head trader for structured fund of hedge funds business in HSBC (New York). Denis also traded interest rates for Commerzbank (in New York and London) and Credit Lyonnais (in Tokyo).
Denis started his career as a financial engineer for Paribas (in London, New York and Tokyo) designing, programming and calibrating numerical model focusing on interest rate products. Denis was also a financial engineer at Commerzbank (in Tokyo, London and New York) across asset classes.
