Mateo Millett

Mateo Millett is a Senior Managing Director in the Strategic Communications segment of FTI Consulting, and serves as global head of the Industrials sector for the segment.

Mr. Millett leads a multi-disciplinary global team with industry-leading core competencies in public affairs, corporate reputation, and financial communications, including professionals with specialized expertise in crisis communications and issues management, ESG, government affairs, mergers and acquisitions, and people and transformation. This team has worked on many of the highest-profile matters in the Industrials sector over the recent past, from multi-billion litigation issues, to some of the largest cross-border mergers and acquisitions, to multiple multifaceted spin-off transactions, to complex regulatory matters with significant freedom to operate implications.

Companies in the industrials sector operate at the center of an increasingly complex and globally interconnected landscape where politics, regulation, public opinion, and capital markets intersect. In this environment, information is difficult to control, misinformation is pervasive, and stakeholder perceptions develop quickly, which can threaten a company’s freedom to operate if not properly mitigated or managed. The industrials team helps its industrial clients advance their freedom to operate by providing insight, strategy, and expertise in effectively engaging stakeholders around critical moments of change to achieve successful business outcomes.

Mr. Millett joined FTI Consulting in 2007 after spending six years as an equity analyst with an independent research company in Boston where he was responsible for evaluating companies to determine their investment potential for a wide range of institutional investors. He previously held positions at Charles River Associates, where he was a member of the finance practice and specialized in valuing large scale project finance projects, and Harvard Business School, where he developed and co-authored case studies, teaching notes, and academic papers on a wide range of topics related to valuation methodologies and issues of corporate control.

Mr. Millett graduated Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the Tufts University, earning Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Economics.
