Ahmad Ridzuan (Reed) Samsudin

Reed Samsudin is a seasoned communications professional with experience across diverse industries. Reed currently serves as a Senior Director in the Strategic Communications practice of FTI Consulting in Kuala Lumpur.

As a trusted advisor, Reed specializes in strategic communications matters such as crisis communication, reputation management, public affairs and media relations. His expertise, spanning more than 15 years, encompasses the banking and financial services, energy and fast-moving consumer goods sectors. He has played a pivotal role in assisting organizations across the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, the Middle East, North America and Africa to formulate and execute communication strategies.

In previous roles, Reed has served as the communications lead at a national energy group, multinational dairy cooperative FrieslandCampina and commercial bank Affin Bank. His business contributions also extend to multinational bank Standard Chartered where he operated across several countries in which the institution maintained a presence.

Before transitioning to the corporate sector, Reed honed his skills as a business journalist for both local and international media outlets including TV3, Astro, The Edge Malaysia and Bloomberg.

Reed holds a B.A. in English Language and Literature from the International Islamic University Malaysia.
