Thierry Linares

Thierry Linares is a Senior Managing Director in the Forensic & Litigation Consulting segment and is based in Paris. Mr. Linares is a member of the EMEA Construction, Projects & Assets practice and has over 18 years of experience managing the various components of construction project controls, both on contractor and client-side. 

Mr. Linares joined FTI Consulting in 2016, having spent most of his professional career working on major oil and gas and infrastructure projects. Prior to joining FTI Consulting, he held positions with Technip, ECP and Saipem.

Mr. Linares has been extensively involved in the set-up, management and development of activities of project control, including budget and cost control, planning, contracts and subcontracts administration, risk management, and analysis of key performance indicators. He has developed a comprehensive knowledge of issues relating to cost, scheduling, procurement, risk and contract management within the construction project industry. Mr. Linares has worked on greenfield onshore oil and gas, offshore modular process, mining and port projects, civil infrastructures, from engineering to commissioning. He has extensive experience in technical industrial problematics, for projects ranging from several million dollars value to several billions.

Mr. Linares has experience testifying in ICC arbitrations as delay and quantum expert and has been selected by Who’s Who Legal as being among the world’s leading consulting experts since 2018. He acts as country representative for the Dispute Board Foundation in France and is part of the FIDIC President’s list of Adjudicators.

Mr. Linares works in French, English and Spanish. He has recently been appointed as an expert to support amicable negotiations of a multi-billion dollars claims in the oil and gas sector. Mr. Linares holds an M.Sc. in Management from Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Toulouse and a LL.M. in Construction Law and Arbitration from Robert Gordon University.
