About M. Timothy
M. Timothy Renjilian has been providing audit, accounting and advisory services to attorneys and corporate clients for over 30 years. In the early part of his career, his work consisted primarily of audit and advisory engagements for private and publicly traded companies involved in heavily regulated businesses. This work included assignments related to cost accounting and compliance matters and to contract claims and disputes.
For over 20 years, Mr. Renjilian has concentrated on the health care sector where he has helped clients in a wide range of matters relating to regulatory compliance and legal disputes. This work has involved the Federal False Claims Act; the Stark Law and the Anti-Kickback Statute; the Food, Drug and Cosmetics Act, and other laws. Mr. Renjilian’s clients have included hospital systems, inpatient rehabilitation facilities, skilled nursing facilities, home health companies, durable medical equipment suppliers, pharmaceutical companies, device manufacturers, payers, and others.
Mr. Renjilian has advised clients on the development and implementation of compliance programs and ways to strengthen compliance program effectiveness and analyzing the accounting and financial reporting impacts of health care compliance and revenue recognition matters. He has also been involved in performing detailed reviews of health care claims to identify and quantify issues related to the presentation, processing and payment of such claims. These reviews have involved the use of statistical samples; benchmarking data; and sophisticated electronic models capable of handling large volumes of claim data.
Mr. Renjilian regularly conducts independent review and monitoring activities in connection with Corporate Integrity Agreements and other compliance-oriented regimens. These engagements frequently involve working collaboratively with government agencies to develop appropriate analytical methodologies and reporting formats. He has performed special reviews and investigations in connection with allegations of fraud or impropriety. This work often involves presenting and defending the results of our analyses to management, boards of directors, and state or Federal regulators. He has also served as an expert witness in a variety of forums.
Mr. Renjilian also has experience assisting in the evaluation and preparation of voluntary disclosures related to overpayments under Federal healthcare programs, performing financial statement audits of healthcare and government contracting entities, developing analyses to support management decision-making and the development of settlement strategies in connection with legal and regulatory disputes and providing expert support and testimony in a variety of forums.
Mr. Renjilian holds a B.S. in Commerce from the University of Virginia and is a Certified Public Accountant licensed by the state of Georgia. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, American Bar Association (non-attorney member) and the Health Care Compliance Association.
