About Tipton
Tipton Ford is responsible for delivering services and solutions to support academic and community medical organizations. Mr. Ford has more than 30 years of experience across a variety of institutions, including university clinical departments, integrated healthcare systems and community medical groups.
Mr. Ford has served clients by providing expertise in improving academic clinical department operations, managing inter-organizational affiliation agreements, optimizing medical group performance and strategic/service-line planning. He has successfully partnered with physician leaders to manage academic clinical departments, large faculty practice plans and medical groups in medical schools and healthcare systems.
Mr. Ford has a proven track record of supporting academic organizations in improving performance across their triparted clinical, educational and research missions. In the clinical service delivery realm, he has helped institutions improve quality and overall financial performance by increasing patient access, aligning provider compensation plans with organizational goals, optimizing clinic workflows, implementing advanced staffing models, developing actionable management reports and establishing comprehensive provider workforce planning processes.
In the area of graduate medical education, Mr. Ford has advised organizations regarding the strategic mix and scope of resident/fellow education programs, optimized financial structures, improved clinical throughput, and established new teaching programs. He also possesses a deep knowledge of academic department research program strategic planning and program development, as well as operational and financial performance optimization and management.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Ford was the chief operating officer for the RWJ Barnabas-Rutgers combined medical group. His additional industry experience includes serving as the senior vice president for the Penn State Health faculty medical group, chief administrative officer for the Weill Department of Medicine and executive director for the Departments of Surgery, Pathology and Medicine at the University of Cincinnati.
