Tom Welsh

Tom Welsh is a Managing Director in the Turnaround & Restructuring practice, specializing in providing financial advisory services to companies and creditors in the U.S. and Puerto Rico through in- and out-of- court processes. He has more than eight years of advising both public and private companies across many industries, including restaurants, consumer products, entertainment, travel and leisure, e-commerce, fertilizer and lawn care, digital media, jewelry and insurance.

Mr. Welsh’s experience includes advising distressed corporations through restructuring negotiations and due diligence processes, assisting senior management in developing reporting tools to track performance and liquidity, and managing teams through Chapter 11 reorganizations. His extensive experience advising companies and creditors includes assessment of business plan and liquidity forecast models; development of strategic alternatives; preparation of financial projections, cash flow forecasts, and related scenario analyses; recovery analyses; cash management; hypothetical liquidation; and claims analyses.

A representative list of engagements that Mr. Welsh has provided services includes Remington, SFX Entertainment, The Hertz Corporation, Herc Rentals, Chewy.com, Hilton Worldwide, several consumer goods manufacturers, a casual dining restaurant chain, several fast-food restaurant chains, a large diamond wholesaler, Caribbean Petroleum Corporation, and MBIA Inc.

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Welsh worked at STAG Capital Partners and PNC Financial Services.

Mr. Welsh holds a B.S. in business management and finance from Boston College. He is a member of the Turnaround Management Association.
