About Dean
Dean Mullett is the Leader of FTI Capital Advisors in Canada, FTI Consulting's investment banking subsidiary and specialises in special situation investment banking. Mr. Mullett has more than 20 years of capital markets experience and industry expertise across a range of sectors, including automotive, construction, energy, financials, food, professional services firms, real estate, retail, steel and transportation.
Mr. Mullett’s recent experience has included acting as financial advisor to: Bondfield Construction in connection with its $80 million refinancing; an oil field services company in connection with its refinancing; various financings for the railcar original equipment manufacturer National Steel Car; the refinancing of global architectural and engineering firm IBI Group; the refinancing of Danby Products, a refrigeration and specialty appliance company; and various refinancings and operational restructuring of diversified technology-driven manufacturer, Reko International.
In addition, Mr. Mullett acted as an advisor regarding: the sale of retailer TSC Stores, owned by Birch Hill Equity Partners, to Peavey Mart; the sale of retailer Comark, operating under the Ricki’s, Bootlegger and Cleo brands, to Stern Partners; the sale of ice product manufacturer and distributor Arctic Glacier Income Fund to HIG Capital; the sale of Viceroy Homes to Canada Wood Frame Solutions Ltd.; the sale of Greco Aluminum Railings Inc. to O2 Investment Partners; the sale of various operating entities of fireplace and wood stove manufacturer CFM Corporation, an Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan portfolio company; the sale and recapitalisation of Canada’s leading education publisher, Nelson Education; and the sale of a global plastics process technology leader Mold-Masters Group to private equity firm 3.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Mullett was a Managing Director at Alvarez & Marsal in Toronto, where he launched and led the firm’s Canadian Investment Banking business. Previously, Mr. Mullett also was a Partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he spent 15 years in various roles within the Restructuring and Corporate Finance practices.
